It is a translation certified as a true copy of the original by the translator himself, in a specified language pair. The service for certified translations is offered when official documents must be presented to both public and private institutions such as courts, ministries, municipalities, embassies, universities, among others. In order to be legally valid abroad, Costa Rican documents must be duly legalized and/or authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica (Costa Rican chancellery) that will issue the apostille. In the same way, public documents issued abroad will only take effect in Costa Rica if they are duly certified and recognized by the State that will issue the apostille.
